REMEMBER WHEN by RC Boldt - REVIEW

SYNOPSIS:

The third installment of RC Boldt's Teach Me series returns with two people who once had it all…
Over a decade ago, fourth grade teacher Tate Donnelly was attending college with the love of her life by her side. She had been certain, even then, that it was the forever kind of love. But she was proven wrong when he left her all alone to pick up the pieces of her life—and heart—when her entire world imploded.
Former Navy SEAL Miller Vaughn once had the love of a girl he thought would be his, and be by his side forever. Unfortunately, that only lasted until after he joined the Navy. Then she vanished, never to be heard from again. Throwing himself into his training, he vowed to become the best, toughest SEAL he could be, and never let a girl get the best of him again.
Years later, a man who resembles a boy she once knew reappears in her life. A boy she had loved with her whole being. A boy who had eviscerated her heart.
Though much time has passed, Tate and Miller still feel that same "pull" they did years ago. When truths about the past are revealed, will they both be able to move on from their painful past … or are they destined for heartbreak again?
Can they remember when their love was the most important thing in their world?

REVIEW:

Every word and every page made me fall more in love with Tate and Miller. The banter and chemistry is off the charts with these two making it difficult to put the book down. If you've read the other two books in the series, you'll be glad to know that you'll get to see them again as well as getting to meet a few new faces.

Like other second-chance romances, events from the past make it difficult for Tate and Miller to reconnect. Both had their hearts broken and must make the decision to trust again. The chemistry between the two still remains and I loved following their path back to love. It is explosive

Your heart with break for all Tate and Miller lost, but the struggle makes the ending so satisfying. If you're not familiar with this series yet, you really need to check it out. It would be best to read it in order, but if you want to start with REMEMBER WHEN that's okay, too.

About RC Boldt

RC Boldt is the wife of Mr. Boldt, a retired Navy Chief, mother of Little Miss Boldt, and former teacher of many students. She currently lives on the coast of North Carolina but dreams of relocating to a tropical island. When she's not writing, she can be found daydreaming of relocating to a tropical island, at the beach, going running with her family (and contemplating *gently* tossing her daughter out of the jogging stroller to reduce weight resistance), singing karaoke, harassing her husband or relaxing with a good book. And, let's be honest. Most of those activities listed probably include wine or a good microbrew. Except for the running. In that case, the drinks come afterward. :)

FEARLESS by B.B. Reid - REVIEW

Let me start out by saying that if you haven't read the other books in this series you definitely need to in order to understand what is going on in FEARLESS.

This is going to be a spoiler free review so forgive me if this sounds vague.

FEARLESS picks up where BREAKING LOVE leaves off. In addition to moving the story forward, the reader get flashbacks that fill in information about the major conflict of the story. FEARLESS has a lot of the same components that make the other books in the series work.

1. Alpha males
2. Steamy scenes
3. Suspenseful situations
4. Awesome couple interaction
5. Tough guys being wrapped around kids' fingers

The one thing that is different in FEARLESS is Lake. Her five years with Keiran and the other alpha males in her "family" (Keenan and Dash) has really changed the way she handles conflict. She is no longer willing to roll over and accept the victim status. When she submits to Keiran she does it when she wants to, not just because he demands it. Lake's love for Keiran makes her want to protect him, but he, being the alpha male he is, makes that difficult. He is tuned into Lake so much and knows she's hiding things from him.

Even though her secrets are putting a strain on their relationship, Lake stays the course - determined to protect Keiran and prevent him from sinking back into the darkness that was his childhood. The darkness that turned him into a monster - a killer.

FEARLESS is a great end to the BROKEN LOVE series. In addition to a great ending, B. B. Reid gives us an awesome epilogue. I love how things stand for Keiran and Lake, Keenan and Sheldon, and Dash and Willow. AND, in the author's note at the end of the book, B. B. Reid give us a hint as to what will be coming next.

What I really want is this...follow up stories several years in the future that feature the kids of the BROKEN LOVE characters. There is so much potential there.

If you haven't started this series yet, you need to get on it now. At $2.99 each, the five book series is totally affordable.

UNSEEN MESSAGES by Pepper Winters - REVIEW

From New York Times Bestseller Pepper Winters comes a timeless love story answering the question of what happens when everything is stripped away.

FYI - It you are a fan of Pepper Winters, be aware that this book is UNLIKE anything else she has ever written. While this book has some amazing sex scenes in it, it doesn't focus on that aspect of the story. This is not a BDSM story. This is a survival story.

As an only child I would often play, what I would call, "survival." I would put all the things I didn't think I could live without on my bed and then pretend that I was either lost at sea or stranded on a deserted island.  I have always loved survival stories. OMG! I remember when Alive came out. I went to the movies and read the book.  While the island that Galloway and Estelle crashed on is different, there was still that excitement of struggling for survival. (Don't worry, they don't have to resort to cannibalism in UNSEEN MESSAGES.)

This review isn't going to contain a lot of information about the plot because I don't want to spoil anything for the readers.

Estelle and Galloway are among a group of people that are desperate to get to a resort on one of the Fiji islands. The problem is, there is a terrible storm that has grounded all flights. By using a lot of money as incentive, they finally convince a helicopter pilot to take them to the island even though the storm is still raging and the helicopter doesn't have a working locator beacon. As you already know from the teasers and the face that this is a survival story, the helicopter doesn't make it. It crash lands and only 4 of the 7 people that took off from the airport survive. Estelle, Galloway, and two kids. Together they find a way to survive. Together they build a family. Together they create memories. Together they fall in love with their island.

Their time on the island isn't without struggle. They have setbacks. They have heartbreak. But, they also have love.

This isn't an insta-love situation, which makes it good. That's not to say there isn't an attraction between them because there is. Even before the crash. When they see each other in the airport leaving the United States they feel the pull of each other, but they try to ignore it, both for their own reasons.

Estelle is an introverted songwriter that was thrust into fame because her best friend posted a video of her singing to YouTube.

Galloway is a man riddled with guilt. After spending time in prison, he doesn't feel deserving of love.

You are definitely going to need Kleenex for this book. I cried through several parts and even after it still stuck with me. UNSEEN MESSAGES is a book that will stick with you for a while.

IN YOUR DREAMS
A Falling Series Spin-Off
NA Contemporary Romance
Cover photo shot by Frank Rodriguez - DLRfoto
Cover design by Ginger Scott
Scheduled to release: March 29, 2016

BLURB:
Casey Coffield has a growing list of personal flaws he keeps locked away in his head:
He’s never on time.
His list of IOUs to his best friend is endless.
Money is always short.
Goals are never in reach.

Oh, and he’s decided to add college drop-out to that list, too. He doesn’t really think that last one’s such a bad thing, but his family insists it is, so it stays on the list.

On paper, he’s a zero. But in person, when he’s mixing tracks for a sea of bodies at the hottest clubs and parties, he’s downright irresistible. Just-right stubble on his chin, body of a boxer and a smirk that stimulates all the right nerves—women have never been a problem. They flock to his swagger and fall for his charm…fast.

All except for this one.

Purple hair, gray eyes, a raspy voice and sass, Murphy Sullivan is a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll. And her and Casey? They have history. He can’t remember it, but she wrote a song about him—and it’s not exactly a love song. But it is good. Damn good. And uncovering her inspiration just might be the key to solving a few of his shortcomings—not to mention open doors to his own big break in the music industry.

But sometimes dreams get messy when they collide. Sometimes life changes patterns. A past paints the wrong picture and futures get cloudy. The only question that remains is who will you choose when the dust settles—you? Or the girl of your dreams?

EXCERPT:
She breathes in slowly, rolling on her back and stretching her arms over her head. The black T-shirt she’s wearing rides up enough that I see her sides and bare stomach above her low-slung jeans, and I think to myself how far I’ve come. Any other girl, some other place and time, and I would be switching gears right now, capitalizing, because I always get the girl. I just don’t always keep the girl. They learn things, grow tired of me, or, more often, I am bored and done before anything has a chance. It’s never been the right girl, really. But Murphy…she’s a keep kind of girl. And this whole thing started because she hates me, so patience is necessary. But I have had my hand on that stomach. I’ve felt how warm her skin is through layers of fabric. I bet her skin is searing bare.

Patience isn’t a virtue. Patience is a murderer of six-foot-one fools desperate to kiss girls who sing like angels and look like my dreams.
